Goathland is a picturesque village in the North York Moors National park approximately 15 miles due north of Pickering, off the A169 to Whitby. Its main street is lined by village green owned by the Duchy of Lancaster and draws visitors from far and wide with its attractive scenery and its connections with 'Harry Potter' and the well loved ITV drama 'Heartbeat'. It has a station on the steam-operated North Yorkshire Moors Railway line and a number of small village shops but its main services will be from either Pickering or the nearer, Whitby.

Barnet House is on the very edge of the village with glorious views from nearly every direction. However one of its most endearing features is that of its proximity to the steam train line and the passing locomotives. The property is believed to date back to the 1500's although it was completely rebuilt in 1935. This stone built semi-detached house has garden to its three sides down mostly to lawn. The accommodation is over three floors with a recently fitted dining kitchen, separate utility and cloakrooms, a sitting room with log burning stove and double doors that open into a lovely garden room over looking fields and the North Yorkshire Moors Heritage Railway. The First floor has two good double bedrooms served by a luxurious bathroom and a second floor with two further bedrooms; although currently used as a master, with dressing room and en suite shower.

Barnet House is on the right hand side indicated by a Rounthwaite & Woodhead 'For Sale' board . Postcode: YO22 5NG.
